AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of the structure on Interstate 30 |
|
|
connecting the east and west levee of the Trinity River as the |
|
|
Margaret McDermott Bridge. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 225.070 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 225.070. MARGARET MCDERMOTT BRIDGE. (a) The |
|
|
structure on Interstate 30 located in the city of Dallas connecting |
|
|
the east and west levee of the Trinity River is designated as the |
|
|
Margaret McDermott Bridge. |
|
|
(b) The department shall design and construct markers |
|
|
indicating the highway number, the designation as the Margaret |
|
|
McDermott Bridge, and any other appropriate information. |
|
|
(c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), the department |
|
|
shall erect a marker at each end of the structure. |
|
|
(d) The department is not required to design, construct, or |
|
|
erect a marker under this section unless a grant or donation of |
|
|
private funds is made to the department to cover the cost of the |
|
|
design, construction, and erection of the marker. |
|
|
(e) Money received under Subsection (d) shall be deposited |
|
|
to the credit of the state highway fund. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
