AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the permissible sources of funding for memorial markers |
|
|
to designate the Veterans Memorial Highway. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 225.059(d), Transportation Code, as |
|
|
added by Chapter 546 (H.B. 1136), Acts of the 79th Legislature, |
|
|
Regular Session, 2005, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The department is not required to design, construct, or |
|
|
erect a marker under this section unless a grant or donation of |
|
|
public funds, private funds, or both is made to the department to |
|
|
cover the cost of the design, construction, and erection of the |
|
|
marker. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
