AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of a segment of Interstate Highway 30 in |
|
|
Hunt County as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 225.079 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 225.079. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., FREEWAY IN HUNT |
|
|
COUNTY. (a) The part of Interstate Highway 30 in the corporate |
|
|
limits of the city of Greenville is designated as the Martin Luther |
|
|
King, Jr., Freeway. |
|
|
(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall |
|
|
design and construct memorial markers indicating the freeway |
|
|
number, the designation as the Martin Luther King, Jr., Freeway, |
|
|
and any other appropriate information. The department shall erect |
|
|
a marker at each end of the freeway and at appropriate intermediate |
|
|
sites along the freeway. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
