A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the display of emergency and other notices by a |
|
|
governmental entity on the entity's Internet website. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 2051, Government Code, as |
|
|
redesignated from Subchapter E, Chapter 2051, Government Code, by |
|
|
H.B. 1154 and H.B. 3607, Acts of the 87th Legislature, Regular |
|
|
Session, 2021, and as effective September 1, 2021, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 2051.203 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2051.203. REQUIRED POSTING OF NOTICE. (a) In this |
|
|
section "governmental entity" has the meaning assigned by Section |
|
|
2051.041. |
|
|
(b) A governmental entity shall post in a prominent location |
|
|
on the home page of the entity's Internet website: |
|
|
(1) each emergency notification issued by the entity; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) any other official notice issued by the entity, |
|
|
including notices regarding the entity's ability or inability to |
|
|
provide services the entity normally provides to the public. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect December 1, 2021. |
