A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the designation of polling place locations on the
  campuses of certain general academic teaching institutions.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 43, Election Code, is
  amended by adding Section 43.008 to read as follows:
         Sec. 43.008.  CAMPUS POLLING PLACE. (a) The commissioners
  court of a county shall designate as a polling place a location on
  the main campus of a general academic teaching institution as
  defined by Section 51.821, Education Code, located within the
  county if at least 8,000 students are enrolled in the institution.
         (b)  Voting by personal appearance must be conducted at a
  polling place location designated under this section during the
  same hours as voting is conducted at the main early voting polling
  place and on election day.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
  last day of the legislative session.
