R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Alexander R. Kalota is retiring from the Mesquite
  Police Department on July 31, 2021, after 38 years of exemplary
  service; and
         WHEREAS, In the course of his tenure, Officer Kalota has
  served the Mesquite PD as a patrol officer with the operations
  bureau, as a field training officer, and as a burglary and theft
  investigator; and
         WHEREAS, Respected and admired by his fellow officers, this
  esteemed first responder has earned numerous accolades and
  commendations over the years, including two Life Saving Awards and
  a Field Training Officer of the Year award as well as a Civic
  Achievement Award from the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Officer Kalota has enjoyed the
  love and support of his wife, Lesa Kalota, and he takes great pride
  in his stepsons, Cameron and Sterling Cooper; and
         WHEREAS, For nearly four decades, Alexander Kalota has
  exemplified the highest ideals of the law enforcement profession
  and contributed immeasurably to the safety and well-being of
  Mesquite residents, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
  notable record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Alexander
  R. Kalota on his retirement from the Mesquite Police Department and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Officer Kalota as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
