R E S O L U T I O N

|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 87th |
|
|
Texas Legislature, That Rule 4, Section 2(a)(7), of the permanent |
|
|
rules of the House of Representatives of the 87th Legislature is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(7) The speaker shall designate the chair and |
|
|
vice-chair from the total membership of the committee. If, at the |
|
|
time the speaker announces the membership of committees, the |
|
|
members of one political party constitute a majority of the |
|
|
membership of the house, the speaker shall designate a member of |
|
|
that party to serve as chair of each committee. |
