R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The citizens of Center lost an admired community
  leader with the passing of Rick Lane Campbell on July 19, 2021, at
  the age of 62; and
         WHEREAS, The son of James and Mona Campbell, Rick Campbell
  was born on April 5, 1959, in Center, where he grew up with two
  sisters, Angela and Jamie; he graduated from Center High School
  with the Class of 1977 and continued his education at Tyler Junior
  College and The University of Texas; he went on to enjoy a
  successful career as co-owner of the Center Livestock Company and
  as the founder of Portacool; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his fellow citizens, Mr. Campbell
  served as a county judge for Shelby County and as a volunteer
  firefighter in Center; he also donated to numerous charities, and
  he was involved with such worthy organizations as the Shelby County
  Chamber of Commerce, the Center Rotary Club, and the Houston
  Livestock Show and Rodeo, among many others; in recognition of his
  contributions, he received an Alumni of the Year award from Tyler
  Junior College and a Conservation Service Award from Ducks
  Unlimited; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing his family above all else, Mr. Campbell was
  devoted to his wife, Katrina, and he took great pride in his
  children, Brooke and Ashton, and his stepchildren, Emily, Ellie,
  Dean, and Dane; with the passing years, he had the privilege of
  becoming "Papaw" to his two grandchildren, Vivienne and Evangeline;
  and
         WHEREAS, In his leisure time, Mr. Campbell enjoyed playing
  golf and hunting; moreover, he was a valued member of First Baptist
  Church of Center; and
         WHEREAS, While the death of Rick Campbell brings great
  sadness to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
  will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Rick Lane Campbell and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rick
  Campbell.
