R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |
|
have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |
|
workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |
|
in the pandemic was Clemente Rocha III, a dedicated and |
|
well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal |
|
Justice, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 54; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rocha enjoyed a rewarding career with the |
|
Windham School District that spanned 25 years; he served as a |
|
vocational teacher at the Fabian Dale Dominguez State Jail, where |
|
he taught classes in computer aided drafting; in his leisure time, |
|
he delighted in playing golf, listening to music, barbecuing, and |
|
building model planes; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep faith, Mr. Rocha considered his |
|
wife, Yvette, and his daughters, Cassandra and Crystal, to be his |
|
greatest blessings; among his many achievements, he received the |
|
2008-2009 Lane Murray Excellence in Teaching Award from the Windham |
|
School District in recognition of his steadfast commitment to his |
|
students and to the highest standards of his profession; and |
|
WHEREAS, Clemente Rocha faithfully and ably performed his |
|
duties throughout his tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|
Justice, and he will long be remembered with great admiration by all |
|
who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Clemente Rocha III and extend deepest sympathy to his family, |
|
friends, and colleagues; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clemente |
|
Rocha. |
