R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas |
|
have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and |
|
workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives |
|
in the pandemic was Godfrey Zuze, a dedicated and well-respected |
|
employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, who passed |
|
away on February 8, 2021, at the age of 48; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of devout faith, Godfrey Zuze served as pastor |
|
of Miracle Faith Dynamic Ministries in Houston; he shared a |
|
rewarding relationship with his wife, Bella, and took great pride |
|
in their two children, Crown and Treasure; he always made time for |
|
his loved ones, including his family in the United States and his |
|
relatives in his native Zambia; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Zuze worked as a correctional officer at the |
|
Estelle Unit in Huntsville, and he hoped to one day become a |
|
chaplain for the TDCJ; his devotion to his beliefs was readily |
|
apparent to everyone, and he endeared himself to his colleagues |
|
with his cheerful demeanor and his willingness to help others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Godfrey Zuze faithfully and ably performed his |
|
duties throughout his tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal |
|
Justice, and he will long be remembered with great admiration by all |
|
who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Godfrey Zuze and extend deepest sympathy to his family, friends, |
|
and colleagues; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Godfrey |
|
Zuze. |
