R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Sharon Ann Thompson of |
|
Kyle were deeply saddened by her passing on October 23, 2020, at the |
|
age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Edmund Mueller and Mildred Huck |
|
Mueller, the former Sharon Mueller was born in Cuero on October 13, |
|
1948, and grew up with a brother, Gary, and two sisters, Sandra and |
|
Lerna; she graduated from Nordheim High School and attended |
|
Nixon-Clay Business College in Austin; for many years, she worked |
|
as a secretary and in office supervisory positions; calm and |
|
caring, she was always ready to lend colleagues a sympathetic ear, |
|
and she never had a cross word for anyone; she received the Superior |
|
Service Award from Texas A&M University during her time as |
|
assistant office manager of a Texas A&M AgriLife District Office; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, She married Jeff Thompson in December 1979, and she |
|
provided steadfast support in his work as pastor of Lutheran |
|
congregations in Nordheim, Runge, Fredericksburg, Robstown, Cuero, |
|
and Wimberley; devoted to her family, she was the proud mother of |
|
six children, Barbara, Bruce, Brian, Brent, Jennifer, and |
|
Christopher; she was eventually blessed with eight grandchildren, |
|
Christen, Cody, David, Jessica, Tristan, Elizabeth, Ethne, and Sam, |
|
and two great-grandchildren, Taryn and Levi; in her free time, she |
|
enjoyed reading, gardening, and crocheting; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sharon Thompson possessed a generosity of spirit |
|
that expressed itself in myriad ways, and she enriched the lives of |
|
countless people with her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Sharon Ann Thompson and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn |
|
her passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sharon |
|
Thompson. |
