A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the return of certain ballots. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 86.006, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (a-1) and adding Subsection (a-2) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(a-1) The voter may deliver a marked ballot in person to the |
|
|
early voting clerk's office or to another designated location |
|
|
[only] while the polls are open on election day or during the early |
|
|
voting period. A voter who delivers a marked ballot in person must |
|
|
present an acceptable form of identification described by Section |
|
|
63.0101. |
|
|
(a-2) The early voting clerk may designate any number of |
|
|
suitable locations for in-person delivery of ballots. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|
|
last day of the legislative session. |
