SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize August Pahmiyer on the occasion of his 100th birthday, |
|
|
which is being celebrated on August 26, 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for |
|
|
his integrity and generous spirit, and he is a revered citizen of |
|
|
our state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Pahmiyer served the nation with distinction |
|
|
in the United States Army in World War II as a member of the 821st |
|
|
Tank Destroyer Battalion; he earned four Bronze Stars for his |
|
|
actions in battles across Europe; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He has been blessed with a wonderful family; his |
|
|
children, Janet and David Long, and his stepchildren, Mary Lou |
|
|
and Paul Kenjura and Clarence and Jill Gerke, are a source of much |
|
|
pride and joy for him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He has lived through times and experienced events |
|
|
that many people only know through history books, and much can be |
|
|
learned from the wisdom he has gained over the years; beloved and |
|
|
respected in his Brenham community, he is a member of Saint |
|
|
Paul's Lutheran Church, and his faith and his enthusiasm for |
|
|
living each day to the fullest is a source of inspiration to |
|
|
others; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to August |
|
|
Pahmiyer and extend to him best wishes for a memorable 100th |
|
|
birthday celebration; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as a memento of this milestone in his life. |
