R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly
  cause for celebration, and Loraine Swift Christian of Dallas is
  marking that momentous milestone in her life on October 4, 2021, to
  the delight of her family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Born in 1921 to Johnnie and Birdie Mae Swift, the
  former Loraine Swift attended school in Dallas; she settled in the
  Westmoreland Heights neighborhood in 1964; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with a devoted family, Ms. Christian takes
  great pride in her children, Alvis, Evelyn, Patricia, and Larry;
  she is sustained in all her endeavors by a deep and abiding faith,
  and she has been a member of Gilgal Missionary Baptist Church for
  more than five decades; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Christian has traveled to numerous
  destinations, both within the U.S. and around the world, and she has
  especially enjoyed attending the Kentucky Derby; a woman of many
  talents, she has made her own clothes, as well as ceramics; and
         WHEREAS, Loraine Christian is a source of joy and inspiration
  to all who are fortunate enough to know her, and it is indeed a
  pleasure to honor her for joining an elite group of Texans who can
  reflect on 100 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Loraine Swift
  Christian on the occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Christian as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
