R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with the tragic passing of Cole Edward Overstreet of Livingston on |
|
September 24, 2021, at the age of 18; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Conroe on September 19, 2003, Cole |
|
Overstreet was the cherished son of Tad and April Overstreet; he |
|
grew up in The Woodlands and Conroe area with the companionship of |
|
his sister, Anna, and brother, Benjamin, and he moved with his |
|
family to the Lakeside Village neighborhood in Livingston in 2016; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Overstreet embraced his new home in Livingston, |
|
enrolling in Livingston ISD and joining the First Baptist Church of |
|
Livingston; he was a member of the First Student Ministries youth |
|
group at his church, and he played the bass drum in the marching |
|
band at Livingston High School; he was known as a leader and a role |
|
model to his peers, and he strove to live according to one of his |
|
favorite quotes from former president Ronald Reagan, "There is no |
|
limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the |
|
credit"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too |
|
soon, Cole Overstreet was a source of joy and inspiration to all who |
|
were blessed to know him, and they will forever carry his memory |
|
close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Cole Edward Overstreet and extend profound condolences to his |
|
family and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cole |
|
Overstreet. |
