R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Fred Alonzo Rangel of San Antonio, an esteemed civic |
|
leader and friend to many, passed away on October 2, 2021, at the |
|
age of 66; and |
|
WHEREAS, Freddie Rangel was born in Corpus Christi on |
|
October 21, 1954, to the Reverend Frank Rangel Sr. and Sylvia |
|
Rangel, and he grew up with the companionship of five brothers, |
|
Rudolfo, Frank, Robert, Gilbert, and Richard; after graduating from |
|
Memorial High School in San Antonio, he earned a bachelor's degree |
|
in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978; he |
|
later received a diploma in biblical studies from the Latin |
|
American Bible Institute in San Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel founded ADCO Master Builders in 1991, and |
|
he served for many years as president and chief executive officer; |
|
over the course of his tenure, he played an instrumental role in |
|
building commercial and residential structures in the San Antonio |
|
area; passionate about politics, he served as president of the |
|
Republican Party of Bexar County, as a precinct chair, and as a |
|
member of the State Republican Executive Committee; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of deep faith throughout his life, Mr. Rangel |
|
served as youth minister at La Trinidad Assembly of God Church and |
|
as associate minister at East Central Assembly of God Church; most |
|
recently, he was an active member of Westover Hills Church, where he |
|
volunteered countless hours with several ministries; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rangel benefited from the |
|
love and support of his wife, Debbie, and he took great pride in |
|
their daughter, Amy; over the years, he had the pleasure of seeing |
|
his family grow to include two grandchildren, Luna and Joaquin; in |
|
his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf, playing the guitar, and |
|
going dancing with his wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community, |
|
Freddie Rangel made a meaningful difference in the lives of his |
|
loved ones and fellow citizens alike, and his contributions will be |
|
fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Fred Alonzo Rangel and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn |
|
his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Freddie |
|
Rangel. |
