R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Grace Pierson retired as executive assistant with |
|
the Dumas Economic Development Corporation on September 30, 2021, |
|
drawing to a close an exemplary tenure that spanned two decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2001, Ms. Pierson joined the Dumas EDC, and over |
|
the course of her career, she worked with three executive directors |
|
and 29 board members; along the way, she earned the respect and |
|
admiration of her colleagues for her keen attention to detail and |
|
her varied expertise; her many responsibilities included |
|
bookkeeping, daily business operations, coordinating meetings, |
|
preparing reports, and interacting with clients; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Pierson has been a charismatic ambassador for |
|
Dumas, and she was involved in the creation of more than 1,000 new |
|
jobs and $200 million in capital investments; in addition, she |
|
skillfully managed the Dumas Community Grant Program, and she |
|
played an instrumental role in tracking and maintaining the Dumas |
|
EDC budget and finances; she is a graduate of the Dumas Leadership |
|
Program; and |
|
WHEREAS, In her retirement, Ms. Pierson plans to spend more |
|
time with her husband, Dale, as well as with her other relatives and |
|
friends; a woman of strong faith, she also looks forward to finding |
|
new opportunities to serve others; and |
|
WHEREAS, Grace Pierson's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the residents of |
|
Dumas, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her many |
|
accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her |
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Grace Pierson |
|
on her retirement as executive assistant with the Dumas Economic |
|
Development Corporation and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Pierson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
