R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with the tragic death of Nick Rodriguez of Pasadena on October 1, |
|
2021, at the age of 23; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on May 14, 1998, to Martha Herrera and Nicolas |
|
Rodriguez, Nick Rodriguez grew up with the companionship of his |
|
three siblings, Lucy, Sergio, and Roman; he was a survivor of |
|
childhood leukemia, and his experience dealing with this adversity |
|
led him to study music therapy at Sam Houston State University in |
|
hopes of helping other patients; he was passionate about music, and |
|
he was a gifted cellist; and |
|
WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Mr. Rodriguez was |
|
working as a valet attendant at a local sports bar; he enjoyed |
|
playing tennis and video games and being in the outdoors, and he |
|
cherished the time he spent with his loved ones; he was known for |
|
his easygoing personality and his wonderful sense of humor, which |
|
lifted the spirits of everyone around him; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, those who were |
|
fortunate enough to know Nick Rodriguez will forever treasure their |
|
memories of the love and laughter he shared with them; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Nick Rodriguez and extend profound condolences to all those who |
|
mourn his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nick |
|
Rodriguez. |
