SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Atanacio "Nacho" Campos, who has been honored with a |
|
|
Living Legends of New Braunfels Award by the Braunfels Foundation |
|
|
Trust; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Braunfels Foundation Trust hosts a |
|
|
celebratory luncheon and honors the recipients of the Living |
|
|
Legends of New Braunfels Award, which recognizes a select few |
|
|
individuals who have dedicated years of outstanding support to |
|
|
the people, institutions, and history of New Braunfels; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of New Braunfels, Nacho Campos earned his |
|
|
law degree from The University of Texas at Austin and began |
|
|
operating his legal practice in the capital city; in 1984, he |
|
|
returned to his hometown, and he quickly became engaged in |
|
|
volunteer activities and adopted a passion for serving the local |
|
|
community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Campos held numerous leadership positions |
|
|
throughout 20 years of exemplary service as a member of the New |
|
|
Braunfels Utilities Board of Trustees, and during his tenure, the |
|
|
utilities company increased its capacity in every area; he is a |
|
|
founding member of the Headwaters at the Comal, a nonprofit |
|
|
organization that helps to shape a vision for environmental |
|
|
stewardship and conservation, and he is the inspiration for the |
|
|
Atanacio Campos Volunteer Award, which is bestowed annually to |
|
|
honor a volunteer committed to the organization's mission and to |
|
|
serving the community; he has further served the New Braunfels |
|
|
community through his work on numerous civic committees and |
|
|
advisory boards; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Campos has helped the City of New Braunfels to |
|
|
flourish through his devoted civic service, and it is indeed |
|
|
fitting that he receive special recognition for his invaluable |
|
|
contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations |
|
|
to Nacho Campos on receiving the Living Legends of New Braunfels |
|
|
Award; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
