SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 41
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Jim Streety, who has been honored with a Living Legends |
|
|
of New Braunfels Award by the Braunfels Foundation Trust; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Braunfels Foundation Trust hosts a |
|
|
celebratory luncheon and honors the recipients of the Living |
|
|
Legends of New Braunfels Award, which recognizes a select few |
|
|
individuals who have dedicated years of outstanding support to |
|
|
the people, institutions, and history of New Braunfels; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jim Streety is an award-winning coach and |
|
|
athletics director whose impressive career has brought great |
|
|
distinction to the New Braunfels community; as head football |
|
|
coach for New Braunfels High School, he guided his teams to |
|
|
success during 17 seasons, and throughout his tenure as athletics |
|
|
director of the New Braunfels Independent School District, he has |
|
|
fostered a culture of excellence and has sought to instill in |
|
|
students the value of hard work and discipline and the importance |
|
|
of grace in defeat; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his many outstanding professional |
|
|
accomplishments, he is an exemplary community leader and gives |
|
|
generously of his time and energy to benefit the efforts of local |
|
|
charitable groups and youth programs; his dedicated service on |
|
|
behalf of area students, teachers, and families is appreciated by |
|
|
all and continues to be an invaluable asset to the community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Streety has helped the City of New Braunfels |
|
|
to flourish through his devoted civic service, and it is indeed |
|
|
fitting that he receive special recognition for his many |
|
|
contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations |
|
|
to Jim Streety on receiving the Living Legends of New Braunfels |
|
|
Award; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
