SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
join the Guadalupe Valley Young Marines and Texans across the |
|
|
state in celebrating the last week of October, 2021, as Red |
|
|
Ribbon Week; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The mission of the Young Marines program is to |
|
|
develop good citizenship and promote a healthy, drug-free |
|
|
lifestyle among young people; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Drug awareness and education play a vital role in |
|
|
the Young Marines' fight against illicit drug use and |
|
|
trafficking; the young men and women in this outstanding |
|
|
organization work diligently during Red Ribbon Week to educate |
|
|
others and to raise awareness of the dangers associated with drug |
|
|
use; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Red Ribbon Week provides an opportunity for all |
|
|
citizens to make a difference in the lives of young people by |
|
|
helping to educate them about the consequences of illegal drug |
|
|
use; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Guadalupe |
|
|
Valley Young Marines on their commitment to reducing drug usage |
|
|
and trafficking and extend to them best wishes for a productive |
|
|
and memorable Red Ribbon Week in 2021; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
