SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Maria S. Ledesma, who died September 8, |
|
|
2021, at the age of 94; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Ledesma shaped a joyful and rewarding life |
|
|
centered on her strong spiritual faith and her devotion to her |
|
|
family and friends, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the |
|
|
fullest set an inspiring example for others to follow; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria was born to Ester and Agapito Serda on |
|
|
February 2, 1927; she shared many happy years of marriage with |
|
|
her beloved husband, the late Nick Gandora Ledesma, and she |
|
|
instilled in their five children the importance of hard work and |
|
|
strong values; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and |
|
|
great-great-grandchildren were a source of immense pride for |
|
|
her; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A beloved matriarch and a cherished friend to |
|
|
many, Maria was a charming and gracious lady, and she was noted |
|
|
for her warmth, her sense of humor, and her vivacious, |
|
|
compassionate spirit; she loved dancing and singing and social |
|
|
gatherings with friends and family, and she was an enthusiastic |
|
|
cook, baker, shopper, and gardener; she took joy in helping |
|
|
others, and she was a longtime member of the congregation of Our |
|
|
Lady of Guadalupe Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Maria Ledesma devoted herself fully in all her |
|
|
endeavors, and she treasured each special and joyful moment in |
|
|
life; she was a source of inspiration and light in the lives of |
|
|
others, and she will long be remembered with great affection and |
|
|
admiration by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Maria S. Ledesma; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Maria Ledesma. |
