SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Horseshoe Bay Resort, which celebrated its 50th
  anniversary on July 4, 2021; and
         WHEREAS, The Horseshoe Bay Resort was shaped from the
  vision of Norman and Wayne Hurd, cousins who established the
  award-winning development on the site of the former Coke Ranch;
  the 7,000-acre vacation and recreation spot sits along the
  southeast side of Lake LBJ, and today, it is known as one of the
  best resorts in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, In the 50 years since its establishment, this
  flourishing resort has brought countless visitors to the heart of
  the Texas Hill Country; the lakeside location offers
  opportunities for an array of water sports and waterfront
  accommodations and dining, and the resort is noted for its three
  award-winning golf courses; and
         WHEREAS, Described as a gem in the Hill Country, the resort
  shines anew with its recently renovated and redesigned Yacht
  Club, its most elevated dining and social clubhouse complex; the
  resort was also updated with new furnishings, new lawn and deck
  space, and an extended bar; and
         WHEREAS, The Horseshoe Bay Resort marked its 50th
  anniversary as part of the 2021 Independence Day parade and
  celebration; members of the community also worked together to
  publish The Story of Horseshoe Bay, Texas--1971-2021, which
  chronicles the history of the City of Horseshoe Bay and of the
  resort; all who have contributed to the resort's success are
  indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the founders,
  managers, and staff of the Horseshoe Bay Resort and extend to
  them congratulations on the resort's 50th anniversary; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the resort as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
