Committee Report (Unamended) |
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
The Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert program, created by the 86th Legislature, is designed to close the gap between the effectiveness of alerts for missing children and senior citizens in Texas. The program sends out statewide alerts that assist law enforcement in locating and rescuing missing, kidnapped, or abducted adults who may be in immediate danger of injury or death as well as helping law enforcement and the general public locate any potential suspects. H.B. 2677 seeks to officially designate this alert as the CLEAR Alert, which in part honors victims of violence that led to the CLEAR Alert legislation.
