AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

The County Transportation Infrastructure Fund Grant Program (CTIF), application process does not consider the Road Condition Report listed in Section 251.018 of the Transportation Code when evaluating CTIF applications. Additionally, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) does not use this report for any other purpose.

S.B. 160 would eliminate the road condition report as a requirement of the CTIF application. However, this bill only removes the road report as a requirement of the CTIF application. County commissioners would still be required to complete the annual report and record it in the minutes of the commissioners court to promote continued transparency.

As proposed, S.B. 160 amends current law relating to certain county road reports.
