A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a local agreement with the Department of State Health |
|
|
Services to improve laboratory capabilities in border counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 12, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 12.073 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 12.073. LOCAL AGREEMENT. The department shall enter |
|
|
into an agreement with an institution of higher education as |
|
|
defined by Section 61.003, Education Code, located in Cameron or |
|
|
Hidalgo County to increase the availability of laboratory services |
|
|
in counties adjacent to this state's international border with |
|
|
Mexico. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
