A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the employment of health care professionals at public |
|
|
schools. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 33, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 33.910 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 33.910. EMPLOYMENT OF HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS. A |
|
|
school district or open-enrollment charter school shall assign at |
|
|
least one registered nurse or other health care professional |
|
|
licensed under Title 3, Occupations Code, to be present at each |
|
|
campus of the district or school for not less than half of each |
|
|
school day. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2021-2022 |
|
|
school year. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
