A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to delivery of ballots by mail. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Section 86.006, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsections (j) and (k) to read as follows: |
|
|
(j) A ballot voted under this chapter may not be counted if |
|
|
delivered by any means other than as provided under Subsection (a). |
|
|
(k) A ballot voted under this chapter may not be deposited |
|
|
in an unattended receptacle except for a mailbox or common carrier |
|
|
receptacle. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
