A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the waiver of requirements for removing a person's |
|
|
license from inactive status during a state of disaster. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 301.261, Occupations Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (d) and as necessary to |
|
|
mitigate a nursing workforce shortage caused by a state of |
|
|
disaster, the board shall waive a requirement that a person pay a |
|
|
reactivation fee or complete any required continuing education to |
|
|
remove the person's license from inactive status if the license has |
|
|
been on inactive status for less than four years. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
