AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the requirement to compare and verify signatures when |
|
|
renting a motor vehicle. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.460(b), Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) A person may not rent a motor vehicle to a renter |
|
|
[another person] until the person has inspected [inspecting] the |
|
|
renter's driver's license [of the renter and comparing and |
|
|
verifying the signature on the renter's driver's license with the |
|
|
renter's signature written in the person's presence]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
