A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the release of data purchased by the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter J, Chapter 201, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 201.813 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 201.813. DATA PURCHASED BY DEPARTMENT. (a) |
|
|
Notwithstanding any other law or agreement to the contrary, on |
|
|
request, the department shall provide a written or electronic copy |
|
|
of any data purchased by the department, including data, |
|
|
disaggregated by county, that was purchased for the purpose of |
|
|
conducting the study on the Ports-to-Plains Corridor required by |
|
|
Chapter 756 (H.B. 1079), Acts of the 86th Legislature, Regular |
|
|
Session, 2019. |

|
(b) The department shall provide data described by |
|
|
Subsection (a) to a requestor within a reasonable time but not later |
|
|
than the 60th day after the date the department receives the |
|
|
request. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
