A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the conveyance or transfer of a portion of a state |
|
|
highway road to an airport, land port, or sea port. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 250, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 250.002 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 250.002 CONVEYANCE OR TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF A STATE |
|
|
HIGHWAY ROAD TO AN AIRPORT, LAND PORT, OR SEA PORT. (a) The |
|
|
department may enter into an agreement to allow an airport, land |
|
|
port, or sea port to acquire a portion of a state highway road. |
|
|
(b) An agreement entered into under this section must |
|
|
provide that the airport, land port, or sea port is responsible for |
|
|
maintaining the acquired property. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
