A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to access by an institution of higher education to the |
|
|
TexShare library consortium. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter M, Chapter 441, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 441.221. DEFINITION. In this subchapter: |
|
|
(1) "Commission" means the Texas State Library |
|
|
and Archives Commission. |
|
|
(2) "Institution of higher education" includes |
|
|
an institution of higher education as defined by Section 61.003, |
|
|
Education Code, and a private or independent institution of higher |
|
|
education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code[.], and a |
|
|
work college, as that term is defined by 20 U.S.C. Section 1087-58; |
|
|
(3) "Nonprofit corporation" means a nonprofit |
|
|
corporation established under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act |
|
|
(Article 1396-1.01 et seq., Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes) that |
|
|
provides extensive library services and collections in the fields |
|
|
of clinical medicine and the history of medicine. |
|
|
(4) "Public library" has the meaning assigned by |
|
|
Section 441.122. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
