A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to prohibiting tolls on certain segments of State Highway |
|
|
146. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 228, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 228.060 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 228.060. PROHIBITION OF TOLLS ON CERTAIN SEGMENTS OF |
|
|
STATE HIGHWAY 146. The department may not charge a toll, either |
|
|
directly or indirectly through an agreement with another entity, on |
|
|
a segment of State Highway 146 that: |
|
|
(1) is located within Harris County; |
|
|
(2) between State Highway 225 and State Highway 146; and |
|
|
(3) contains the Fred Hartman Bridge. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
