A JOINT RESOLUTION
|

|
proposing a constitutional amendment adding a Railroad |
|
|
Commissioner. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subsection (b), Section 30, Article XVI, Texas |
|
|
Constitution, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
When a Railroad Commission is created by law it shall be |
|
|
composed of threefour Commissioners who shall be elected by the |
|
|
people at a general election for State officers, and theirtwo |
|
|
Commissioners terms of office shall be six years. And onetwo |
|
|
Railroad Commissioner shall be elected every two years. In case of |
|
|
vacancy in said office the Governor of the State shall fill said |
|
|
vacancy by appointment until the next general election. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to add a commissioner to |
|
|
the Railroad Commission." |
