R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Kenneth Lester Davis on February 23, 2020, at the age of |
|
62; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of John and Lyla Davis, Kenny Davis was born |
|
in Ulysses, Kansas, on January 21, 1958; in high school, he was a |
|
National Merit Scholar and a standout football player, earning the |
|
Hobbs Fighting Eagle award; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Davis went on to receive an engineering degree |
|
from Texas Tech University in 1981, and he subsequently embarked on |
|
a successful career as a civil engineer and developer; in his |
|
leisure time, he found pleasure in duck hunting and fishing, and he |
|
earned a reputation for his ability to fix anything; a Bible scholar |
|
and a man of strong faith, he served as an elder at Trinity Bible |
|
Church in Willow Park; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis enjoyed the love and |
|
support of his wife, Janie, and the couple shared a rewarding |
|
marriage that spanned more than three and a half decades; he |
|
cherished their daughter, Abby, and he welcomed into the family a |
|
beloved son-in-law, Clint Foster; and |
|
WHEREAS, Admired for his wisdom, his generosity, and his |
|
selfless nature, Kenny Davis brightened the world for all who knew |
|
him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth Lester Davis |
|
and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenny |
|
Davis. |
