R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of William Harrison Harriger II on December 27, 2020, at the
  age of 69; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Roy and Evelyn Harriger, Bill Harriger
  was born on October 13, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and he grew
  up with the companionship of his brother, John, and his sister,
  Libby; in 1969, he graduated from Medina High School in Ohio, and he
  went on to earn his bachelor's degree in economics from Miami
  University in Oxford, Ohio; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Harriger attended law school at Ohio Northern
  University in Ada, and he received his doctor of jurisprudence in
  1976; after settling in Lubbock, he was active in the local legal
  community for more than four decades, most recently serving as
  counsel at the law firm of Field, Manning, Stone, Hawthorne &
  Aycock, P.C.; he was board certified in civil trial law, and he
  specialized in general civil litigation, construction law, and
  insurance defense law; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his field, Mr. Harriger was a Life
  Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the Defense
  Research Institute, and he served on the board for the Texas
  Association of Defense Counsel; he further distinguished himself by
  maintaining the highest peer review rating from
  Martindale-Hubbell; in addition to his professional duties, he
  contributed his time and talents to the boards of the Lubbock
  Country Club and the Parkridge Pregnancy Center; moreover, he was
  an active member of the Tom Neal Sunday school class at First
  Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Harriger enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Erin, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage of 40 years; he took great pride in his two children, Will
  and Dinah, and his five grandchildren, Daisy, Bud, Lenox, Lyle, and
  Ellery; in his leisure time, he was an avid golfer; and
         WHEREAS, Although Bill Harriger is deeply missed, he will
  forever be remembered with great admiration and affection by those
  he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Harrison
  Harriger II and extend sincere sympathy to his loved ones; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
  Harrison Harriger II.
