R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The citizens of Lubbock lost a heroic public servant
  when Lieutenant David Eric Hill of Lubbock Fire Rescue was killed in
  the line of duty on January 11, 2020, at the age of 39; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Levelland on July 15, 1980, Eric Hill was the
  son of Mark and Susan Hill and the brother of Randi Norris; after
  graduating from Lovington High School in 1998, he continued his
  studies at South Plains College before earning his bachelor's
  degree in agricultural science from Texas Tech University; a cowboy
  at heart, he belonged to the World Series of Team Roping association
  and hoped to one day own his own ranch; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hill joined the Midland Fire Department in 2007,
  and he went on to serve with Lubbock Fire Rescue as a firefighter
  and paramedic; courageous and committed to his duties, he worked
  his way up to the rank of lieutenant and had recently celebrated 10
  years of service with the department; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with a loving family, Lieutenant Hill was
  the doting father of two daughters, Kynlee and Kylee; he was engaged
  to be married to Taylor Locascio, and the relationship they shared
  was a source of much happiness to him; and
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Eric Hill was an exemplary first
  responder who devoted himself to protecting the lives and property
  of his fellow citizens, and he will forever be remembered for his
  valiant service as well as for the joy that he brought to all those
  who had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lieutenant David
  Eric Hill of Lubbock Fire Rescue and extend heartfelt condolences
  to the members of his family; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lieutenant
  Hill.
