R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Joseph Lynn Manchaca, who passed away on January 7, 2021, at the |
|
age of 67; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Frank and Juana Manchaca, Joe Manchaca |
|
was born on March 9, 1953, in Nacogdoches; he was a member of FFA and |
|
DECA at Nacogdoches High School, and after graduation, he began a |
|
career in the automobile business that included opening his own |
|
repair shop, Joe Manchaca Automotive; he went on to work for |
|
Satellite Logistics Group and as North American director for |
|
warehouse operations for the international logistics firm |
|
Hillebrand, out of their Houston office; and |
|
WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Mr. Manchaca was |
|
president of the San Leon Municipal Utility District for 16 years, |
|
as well as vice president of the Dwane Caldwell Military |
|
Scholarship and Charity Foundation, chaplain of the Sons of the |
|
American Legion, and a lifetime member of the San Leon Fire |
|
Department; he also volunteered with the Sisters Helping Sisters |
|
Brotherhood and with the San Leon Yard Birds, who mow the lawns of |
|
the elderly and individuals with disabilities at no cost; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Manchaca enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife, Marlene, and he took great pride in his |
|
three sons, Troy, Jake, and Chris; with the passing years, he had |
|
the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include 10 grandchildren, |
|
Maddox, Sadie, Darynn, Amelie Jo, Brayden, Raymond, Benjamin, |
|
Emmary, McKinley Jo, and Skyler; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joe Manchaca lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
dedicated to his family and his community, and he leaves behind a |
|
legacy of generosity and service to others that will continue to |
|
inspire all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Joseph Lynn |
|
Manchaca and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joseph Lynn |
|
Manchaca. |
