R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Jewell Marie Pardo of San Antonio on February 24, 2021, |
|
at the age of 91; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former Jewell Teeler, who was affectionately |
|
known as "Snookie," was born in Buda on July 31, 1929, to Rueben and |
|
Stella Teeler, and she grew up with the companionship of four |
|
siblings, Clifford, Kenneth, Billie, and Don Ray; in 1947, she was |
|
joined in matrimony to Charles Pardo, and the couple shared a |
|
fulfilling union that spanned more than five decades until his |
|
passing; she took great pride in her two children, Donald and Lisa, |
|
and through the years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family |
|
grow to include five grandchildren, Kristopher, Ashley, Erin, |
|
Joshua, and Emily, and four great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pardo worked as a sales associate for Dillard's |
|
department store for many years, and she was often named Employee of |
|
the Month for the joy she took in caring for her customers; a woman |
|
of faith, she was a founding member of Concordia Lutheran Church and |
|
later became a valued congregant of Christ Our Savior Lutheran |
|
Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jewell Pardo enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held her dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jewell Marie Pardo |
|
and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jewell |
|
Pardo. |
