H.R. No. 328
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close on June
  11, 2020, with the passing of Thomas Adedayo Ogungbire at the age of
  54; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Joseph and Sarah Ogungbire, Thomas
  Ogungbire was born in Ogbomosho, Nigeria, on November 13, 1965; he
  grew up in a small village with his brothers and sisters and helped
  farm the region until the age of 13, when he went to live with his
  older brother in Lagos, Nigeria; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ogungbire subsequently joined a traveling
  singing group, The Baptist Crusaders, where he met his future wife,
  Elizabeth Olufemi Babarinde; the couple married in Lagos in 1991
  and became the proud parents of two sons, Olatunji and Ayodele; and
         WHEREAS, Seeking opportunities for a better life,
  Mr. Ogungbire moved to the United States with his family; he went on
  to become a correctional officer with the Texas Department of
  Criminal Justice, where he served for a decade until the time of his
  passing; and
         WHEREAS, A kind and generous man, Thomas Ogungbire is deeply
  missed, and those who held him dear will forever remember the joy
  and love he brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Thomas Adedayo
  Ogungbire and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thomas
  Ogungbire.
