R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Larry James York of Palmer on February 14, 2021, at the
  age of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas to James and Iva Jo York on November
  21, 1946, Larry York grew up in Grand Prairie with the companionship
  of his sister, Sandra; after graduating from Grand Prairie High
  School, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War as a
  steelworker; he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. York went on to enjoy a successful career in the
  oilfield, and he was employed by Dallas Area Rapid Transit; deeply
  dedicated to his community, he often purchased school supplies for
  teachers and students; in his leisure time, he delighted in telling
  stories, gardening, fishing, and building things; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Mr. York cherished time spent
  with his loved ones, and he was the proud father of two daughters,
  Carrie and Heather; over the years, he had the pleasure of welcoming
  into his family five grandchildren, Quentin, Ty, Blake, Carston,
  and Karys; and
         WHEREAS, A caring and compassionate man, Larry York will be
  deeply missed, and those who held him dear will forever remember the
  warmth and kindness he brought into their lives; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Larry James York and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  daughters, Carrie York and Heather Brown and her husband, Chad; to
  his grandchildren, Quentin Aldredge, Ty Aubrey, Blake Aubrey,
  Carston Brown, and Karys Brown; to his sister, Sandra Sramek; and to
  his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Larry York.
