R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Frank Salas Lazarte Jr. of Corpus
  Christi on February 4, 2021, at the age of 95; and
         WHEREAS, Frank S. Lazarte Jr. was born on November 5, 1925, to
  Francisco and Stella Lazarte; he grew up with three siblings, Mary,
  Ramona, and Nick, and he graduated from Corpus Christi High School
  in 1944; he served with the U.S. Army during World War II as a
  paratrooper and a radio operator for the 152nd Airborne
  Anti-Aircraft Battalion, 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific
  Theater; he also belonged to the 82nd Airborne Division; among his
  awards, he received the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of
  Occupation Medal, and an Overseas Service Bar, and he attained the
  rank of sergeant; and
         WHEREAS, Following his honorable discharge from the military
  in December 1946, Mr. Lazarte embarked on a career with the Corpus
  Christi Army Depot that spanned from 1947 until his retirement in
  1981; he went on to work for the City of Corpus Christi Gas
  Department, and he held a number of other jobs before retiring for a
  second time in 1990; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Lazarte enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Alice, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned more than seven decades; he took great pride
  in his 4 children, Michael, Richard, Debra, and Frank, and he had
  the pleasure of welcoming 9 grandchildren and 13
  great-grandchildren into his treasured family; he was actively
  involved in his children's and grandchildren's lives and attended
  many of their recitals and sports events; moreover, he loved music
  and delighted in traveling and dancing with his wife; and
         WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Frank S. Lazarte Jr.
  was an inspiration to all who were privileged to know him, and they
  will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Frank Salas Lazarte
  Jr. and extend deepest condolences to his relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frank S.
  Lazarte Jr.
