R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Roger Fenlaw of Amarillo, who passed away on August 22, 2019, at
  the age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, The son of James and Velda Fenlaw, Roger Fenlaw was
  born on June 26, 1925, in Dallas County and grew up with eight
  brothers and sisters; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Fenlaw graduated from Woodrow Wilson High
  School in Dallas in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps,
  serving in Italy and Germany as a waist gunner during World War II;
  following an honorable discharge in 1945, he continued his
  education at The University of Texas at Austin and went on to enjoy
  a successful career in sales; and
         WHEREAS, On October 29, 1945, Mr. Fenlaw married Ada Jett,
  and in the course of their seven decades together, the couple became
  the proud parents of four children, Mark, Rick, Pamela, and Jim;
  with the passing years, Mr. Fenlaw had the privilege of welcoming
  into his family six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Fenlaw taught Sunday school
  at Trinity Fellowship Church for many years, and he served on the
  boards of such worthy religious organizations as Life Challenge,
  the Salvation Army, and Faith City Mission; moreover, he gave
  generously of his time and talents to the Gideons, and he helped
  establish the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Amarillo;
  and
         WHEREAS, Roger Fenlaw led a rich and purposeful life centered
  around his family and his faith, and he will long be remembered with
  deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Roger Fenlaw and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  children, Mark Fenlaw and his wife, Becky, Rick Fenlaw and his wife,
  Robin, Pamela Fenlaw, and Jim Fenlaw; to his grandchildren, Jay and
  his wife, Emily, Reid, Sarah, Frank and his wife, Stephanie, Molly,
  and Meredith and her husband, Austin; to his great-grandchildren;
  and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roger
  Fenlaw.
