H.R. No. 809
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Pedro Piñon of Waxahachie on April 4, 2021, at the age of
  67; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Cresencio and Gavina Piñon, Pedro Piñon
  was born on August 7, 1953, in Roswell, New Mexico, and he grew up
  with the companionship of his seven siblings, Ester, Elena, Daniel,
  Rufina, Anita, Lucy, and Catalina; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Piñon worked as a building inspector for the
  City of Waxahachie, and he gave back to his community as a member of
  the FirstLook board and through his involvement with the Ellis
  County Republican Party; a man of faith, he attended University
  Church and pastored several churches over the course of 40 years; he
  also dedicated himself to studying the Bible; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing his family above all else, Mr. Piñon was a
  devoted husband to his wife, Estela, and he took great pride in his
  children, Heidi, Peter, and Estela; with the passing years, he saw
  his family grow to include nine grandchildren, Sammy, Jude, Ben,
  Micah, Levi, Paxton, Piers, Lela, and Pace, with whom he treasured
  spending many special occasions; in his leisure time, he enjoyed
  writing poetry and tending to his garden; and
         WHEREAS, Pedro Piñon led a life that was rich in family,
  friends, and civic engagement, and those who were privileged to
  share in his love and affection will forever hold him close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pedro Piñon and
  extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pedro
  Piñon.
