R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mission Early College High School in the Socorro |
|
|
Independent School District has been named a recipient of the |
|
|
Purple Star Campus Designation for the 2020-2021 school year by the |
|
|
Texas Education Agency; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious designation was created by the 86th |
|
|
Texas Legislature to honor campuses that have demonstrated a |
|
|
commitment to addressing the needs of military-connected students |
|
|
and their families; ably led by principal Benjamin Ortega, Mission |
|
|
Early College High School qualified for the recognition by meeting |
|
|
several crucial requirements, which include designating a |
|
|
campus-based military liaison, establishing a campus transition |
|
|
program, and maintaining an easily accessible website with |
|
|
information specific to military-connected students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|
|
men and women who have answered our nation's call to duty, and |
|
|
Mission Early College High School is indeed deserving of |
|
|
recognition for its dedication to supporting military families; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mission Early College High School |
|
|
on receiving the 2020-2021 Purple Star Campus Designation and |
|
|
extend to all those associated with the school sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
