R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Captain Reginald Dewayne Williams of Dallas
  Fire-Rescue passed away on April 5, 2021, at the age of 55, bringing
  a profound loss to his family, his colleagues, and his community;
  and
         WHEREAS, The son of Henry Williams and Reba Pikes, Reginald
  Williams was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on June 14, 1965; he
  graduated from Green Oaks High School and went on to earn a
  bachelor's degree in computer science from Grambling State
  University in 1987; while in college, he joined Alpha Phi Alpha
  Fraternity, and he remained active in the organization until the
  time of his passing; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Williams began his career with Dallas
  Fire-Rescue in 1992, and over the course of his nearly three decades
  with the department, he rose to the rank of captain; in recognition
  of his exceptional dedication and courage, he was honored with the
  Medal of Valor from the Dallas Black Fire Fighters Association in
  2000; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Captain Williams enjoyed the
  love and support of his wife, Canefa, with whom he shared a
  rewarding union that spanned 29 years, and he took great pride in
  his two daughters, April and Amber; moreover, he was a valued
  congregant of Friendship-West Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Reginald Williams was a devoted family man and a
  significant asset to his community, and his commitment to his loved
  ones and to the citizens of Dallas will be remembered and admired
  for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Captain Reginald
  Dewayne Williams and extend sincere condolences to his relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Captain
  Reginald Williams.
