R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Joseph Patrick
  Tillotson of Southlake were deeply saddened by his death on April
  22, 2021, at the age of 53; and
         WHEREAS, A seventh generation Texan, Joe Tillotson was born
  in Houston on June 11, 1967, to John and Sylvia Tillotson, and he
  grew up with four brothers, John, James, Jeffrey, and Jerome; after
  graduating from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, he was
  recruited to play basketball at Dartmouth College, where he
  received a bachelor's degree in economics in 1990; he went on to
  earn a master's degree in business administration from Southern
  Methodist University in 1999; and
         WHEREAS, In 1992, Mr. Tillotson began a long and rewarding
  career as an entrepreneur; he founded and cofounded a wide range of
  Dallas businesses, including restaurants, bars, and financial and
  real estate services; many of these businesses achieved great
  success, such as The Barley House, Katy Trail Ice House, Bandito's
  Tex-Mex Cantina, Redfield's Tavern, and DefeaseIt commercial loan
  services; an avid sports fan, he liked attending games with friends
  in his leisure time; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Tillotson enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Katy, and he took great pride in their six
  children, Avi, Kennedy, Lauren, Amelia, Patrick, and Bullock; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his warmth and generosity, Joe Tillotson
  lived a life that was rich in personal and professional
  achievements, and he will forever be a source of inspiration to
  those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the memory of Joseph Patrick Tillotson and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Mary Katherine "Katy" Tillotson; to his children, Avi, Kennedy,
  Lauren, Amelia, Patrick, and Bullock; to his parents, John and
  Sylvia Tillotson; to his brothers, John and his wife, Andrea, James
  and his wife, Tracy, Jeffrey and his wife, Dara, and Jerome and his
  wife, Rebecca; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe
  Tillotson.
