R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Roger Harold Walter Haug of Lockhart on December 25,
  2019, at the age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, Born on October 19, 1943, in Seguin, Roger Haug was
  the son of Otto and Otillia Haug; he grew up with two older
  brothers, Otto and Lawrence, and graduated from Seguin High School
  in 1961; answering his nation's call to duty, he enlisted in the
  U.S. Air Force and served as a ground power mechanic at duty
  stations in El Paso and on the island of Formosa; and
         WHEREAS, Upon returning to Seguin, Mr. Haug took a job at the
  Guadalupe Valley Electrical Cooperative; he went on to realize his
  childhood dream of becoming a state game warden with the Texas Parks
  and Wildlife Department, and he attended Texas A&M University for
  his law enforcement and wildlife training; commissioned in February
  1968, he spent a year in Victoria before transferring to Caldwell
  County, where he served until his retirement on October 31, 1993; he
  then pursued another long-held dream and worked as a cattle rancher
  for several years before selling his business in 2000; in his
  leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling,
  especially to Alaska and the Panama Canal; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Haug enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife, the former Beverly Jean Haecker, with whom he
  shared five decades of marriage; he took great pride in their two
  children, Laurie and Travis, and seven grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although Roger Haug is deeply missed, he has left
  his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
  forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Roger Harold Walter
  Haug and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to
  his wife, Beverly; to his daughter, Laurie, and her husband,
  Patrick; to his son, Travis, and his wife, Monica; to his
  grandchildren, Alyssa, Marilyn, Jodi, Sydney, Hunter, Hannah, and
  Haylee; to his brother-in-law, Jerry, and his wife Belinda; to his
  nieces and nephews; and to his many other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roger Haug.
