R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Evan Hodge of St. Mary's Catholic School in Longview |
|
|
achieved great distinction by winning two medals at the 2021 Texas |
|
|
Association of Private and Parochial Schools Track and Field State |
|
|
Championships; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining other top high school competitors from |
|
|
throughout Texas at Panther Stadium in Hewitt on April 30 and May 1, |
|
|
Mr. Hodge turned in outstanding performances in several 1A events; |
|
|
he claimed the state title in the 100-meter dash with a time of |
|
|
11.94 seconds and a bronze medal in the triple jump, recording a |
|
|
distance of 38 feet, 1 inch; in addition, he finished sixth in the |
|
|
200-meter dash and fourth in the long jump; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in this premier showcase for high |
|
|
school track and field athletes, Evan Hodge has ably represented |
|
|
his school and community, and he will cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Evan Hodge on winning two medals at |
|
|
the 2021 TAPPS Track and Field State Championships and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Hodge as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
